Judaica by Anat Basanta

Whimsical and imaginative, those are the two words which best describe the items created by the Israeli designer Anat Basanta. Her works are on display at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art and the Israel Museum in Jerusalem. Other items are currently being shown at the Jewish Museum shop in Berlin and in New York. Each item ismade with humor, such as the Magnetic paper clip holder in shape of a Sabra plant, or an aluminum garlic head minus one clove. Another theme featured is nature, as in the pea Menorah, or items in form of pomegranates, such as her famous candlesticks. The brass or aluminum Mezuzah case has spare clean lines with an elegant but simple shape, making it a favorite item. The apple Rosh Hashana plate has a simple design in an apple shape, making it classic and understated.
