The smooth silver body, minimalist design, is laser marked with the words, "Zot haTorah asher tzivah Hashem" - This is the Torah which G-d has commanded!" The finger shape tip is stainless steel and the small chain attached is also stainless steel.

Also known as a "Yad" – a hand – because of its finger shape, the Torah Pointer is used by the Reader of the holy Torah scroll in order to avoid touching the delicate parchment scroll. A bar-mitzvah boy, or anyone else who has his own Torah Pointer, will ask the Reader to use it.
