Anointing Oils
The spices used in some of the oils are mentioned in the Bible, in describing the Ketores (incense) which was brought as as an offering in the Holy Temple. It had eleven ingredients and had a fantastic aroma. When Joseph was sold into slavery, it is said that G-d orchestrated events so that he was transported by a band of traders who had spices to trade and sell, so as to soften the harsh blow of being rudely kidnapped from his father.
